Falak vs Vercel · as of September 2026

Ship full-stack apps without a per-seat, per-request bill

Vercel is excellent at frontends: preview URLs, a global edge network and first-class Next.js. Falak is for the whole application: long-running backends, queue workers, databases and observability, on servers you own.

Choose Falak if…

  • Your app has a real backend: Laravel, a Node or Bun server, queue workers, cron, websockets.
  • You want databases next to your app, on your own network.
  • You prefer a flat server bill over usage-based pricing.
  • Data residency matters and you want to pick the exact machine your app runs on.

Choose Vercel if…

  • You build a Next.js or frontend-heavy app and want the tightest framework integration.
  • Global edge delivery and per-PR preview URLs are central to your workflow.
  • You want zero infrastructure to operate.

Where Vercel is better

Falak is not the right tool for everyone. Vercel is the stronger choice here:

  • A global edge network and CDN, with nothing to operate.
  • Preview deployments for every pull request, with comments and collaboration built around them.
  • The deepest Next.js integration, from the team that maintains Next.js.
  • Serverless functions that scale automatically, including to zero.

FAQ

Falak vs Vercel: questions

Something missing? Ask on GitHub.

Can Falak replace Vercel?

For many apps, yes: Falak deploys static sites (Astro, Vite, React builds with SPA fallback), Node, Bun and Deno servers, Next.js and Nuxt from git, with automatic HTTPS. It does not have a global edge network or per-PR previews, so frontend teams that depend on those are better served by Vercel.

Can I deploy Next.js with Falak?

Yes. Next and Nuxt are framework presets. The app runs as a Node server on your own machines, with zero-downtime releases and rollback.

Is there a free self-hosted Vercel alternative?

Falak is free and open source. You only pay for the servers you run it on.
